<p>Description</p><p><strong>Job Description</strong></p><p><strong>Secondary Marketing Analyst II</strong></p><p>Department/Branch: Pricing/Corporate Operations</p><p>Reports to: Senior Vice President of Capital Markets</p><p>FLSA Status: Non-Exempt</p><p>Work Schedule: Full-time </p><p>Locations: In-Office or Remote</p><p><strong>POSITION SUMMARY DESCRIPTION</strong></p><p>The Secondary Marketing Analyst supports the Capital Markets team by overseeing the pricing, locking, hedging, and sale of mortgage loans into the secondary market. This role requires strong analytical skills, sharp attention to detail, and a deep understanding of mortgage-backed securities (MBS), loan pricing, investor guidelines, market execution, and lock desk operations. Lock desk capabilities are a given for this position and will be required to support timely, accurate execution. The Analyst plays a key role in maximizing profitability, managing pipeline risk, and ensuring accurate and compliant loan sales.</p><p><strong>MAJOR AREAS OF responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Secondary marketing operations and lock desk.</li><li>Hedge and pipeline risk management.</li><li>Pricing strategies and best execution.</li><li>Loan sale and investor delivery coordination.</li><li>Compliance and post-close audit support.</li><li>Cross-functional reporting and data analysis.</li></ul><p><strong>Primary objectives</strong></p><ul><li>Ensure timely and accurate pricing and locking of loans.</li><li>Maximize profitability through best execution strategies.</li><li>Maintain accurate and balanced hedge positions and trade reconciliations.</li><li>Support compliance with investor guidelines and internal policies.</li><li>Streamline reporting, onboarding, and technology integration within secondary tools.</li></ul><p><strong>Specific Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Process lock requests and lock changes, including pricing scenarios, extensions, renegotiations, and dual compensation structures.</li><li>Manage and approve renegotiations to ensure adherence to internal policy and profitability guidelines.</li><li>Maintain relationships with Branch Managers for exceptions and updated procedure approvals.</li><li>Triage and route Freshservice tickets to Lock Desk Analysts as needed.</li><li>Create and maintain daily pricing scenarios, investor grids, and specialized pricing (e.g., RVPS, Jumbo, TPO borrower-paid).</li><li>Monitor and distribute rate sheets and executive-level pricing templates for internal teams.</li><li>Perform detailed pipeline scrubbing to ensure pricing accuracy, eligibility, and sale-readiness.</li><li>Execute Best Execution analysis to determine optimal sale strategy across multiple investors.</li><li>Oversee post-close reship activity and coordinate with operations to ensure investor delivery.</li><li>Maintain and operate the Forward Commitment Desk, ensuring efficient use of commitments and delivery strategies.</li><li>Manage mandatory loan trades for profitability and eligibility in accordance with investor guidelines.</li><li>Perform daily lock reconciliation and trade reconciliation to ensure alignment between pipeline and hedge positions.</li><li>Manage the loans placed into the hedge to ensure the company is not taking on excessive interest rate risk.</li><li>Monitor hedge performance, evaluate coverage strategies, and support daily position management.</li><li>Collaborate on monthly accounting and gain-on-sale reporting, working closely with Jason’s team and finance.</li><li>Review and resolve Mavent fail reports to ensure salability and compliance with investor guidelines.</li><li>Manage system access, onboarding, and login credentials for pricing and secondary systems.</li><li>Utilize Encompass for loan designation, exclusion automation, and system-based integration for lock and delivery accuracy.</li><li>Support Optimal Blue usage for lock desk operations, pricing input, and investor guideline reference.</li><li>Create, review, and analyze regular and ad hoc reports on lock volume, pull-through, pricing accuracy, and investor performance.</li><li>Support TPO channel pricing, including borrower-paid compensation structures and investor-specific adjustments.</li><li>Continuously collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Jason’s team, to improve processes and reporting across the secondary workflow.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>Requirements</p><p>Job Requirements</p><p>Broad Knowledge & Experience   </p><p>Understanding of mortgage secondary markets, investor guidelines, and loan sale processes. Experience with pricing engines such as Optimal Blue. Familiarity with Encompass LOS and integration for lock and delivery functions. Knowledge of pipeline hedging, best execution strategies, and investor delivery methods.</p><p>Above Average Skills</p><p>Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities. Excellent written and verbal communication. High attention to detail and organizational precision. Initiative and Accountability.</p><p>Education & Experience</p><p>Degree or Equivalent   </p><p>Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.</p><p>Years’ Experience</p><p>2+ years of experience in mortgage banking, capital markets, or secondary marketing.</p><p>Specialized Training</p><p>Lock desk lead or management experience. Experience with hedge coverage analysis, trade reconciliation, and pipeline management. Experience with Dynamic pricing strategies and competitive analysis. Comfort working with both high-level strategy and detailed operational tasks in secondary marketing.</p><p>Work Environment</p><p>Physical Demands   </p><p>Office environment; Daily computer usage requires close vision.
