Senior Accountant

<p>Walton Enterprises is seeking a skilled, highly motivated and entrepreneurial individual to join the team as a Senior Accountant. The ideal teammate will have the demonstrated ability to prepare financial statements and reporting for use by management and other stakeholders.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>About the Position</strong></p><p>The Senior Accountant provides financial reporting and analysis in support of leadership, family clients, and related entities. This role prepares and reviews financial statements, consolidations, cash activity, and related schedules while collaborating across departments to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. The Senior Accountant also contributes to process improvements, mentoring, and project-based accounting initiatives.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>What you will do</strong></p><p>Supports the financial operations of assigned clients and entities by preparing accurate reports, overseeing cash activity, managing financial consolidations, and collaborating with other departments to deliver high-quality financial information.</p><p><br></p><p><em><u>Responsibilities </u></em></p><ul><li>Manage client relationships by advising on finances, including reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.</li><li>Prepare and review financial statements, consolidations, and related schedules.</li><li>Oversee cash balances and activity, coordinating with staff to ensure timely payments and accurate reporting.</li><li>Delegate and collaborate with Accountants and Staff Accountants to ensure accuracy and timeliness of work.</li><li>Present financial reports and provide analysis and recommendations for management and principals.</li><li>Collaborate across departments to prepare financial presentations and build customized reports.</li><li>Prepare journal entries for payroll, depreciation, investments, and other areas as needed.</li><li>Support the Tax Department with compliance, tax return preparation, and related schedules.</li><li>Analyze processes, recommend improvements, and contribute to department efficiency.</li><li>Participate in mentoring, training, and work reviews to support team development.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Who we are looking for</strong></p><p><em><u>Skills needed</u></em></p><ul><li>Strong financial and technical accounting expertise.</li><li>Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.</li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide meaningful insights.</li><li>Strong communication and presentation skills.</li><li>Ability to mentor and collaborate across teams.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><em><u>Qualifications required for your success</u></em></p><ul><li>Bachelors’ degree in accounting or related field</li><li>Minimum 5 years work experience in an accounting role within a professional setting</li><li>CPA certification or Master’s Degree preferred or a minimum of 8 years work experience in an accounting role within a professional setting</li><li>Strong technical skills, including knowledge and use of Accounting Software, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook</li></ul><p><br></p><p><em><u>Additional Helpful Experience Includes</u></em></p><ul><li>Experience using Microsoft GP, Management Reporter, and SharePoint</li><li>Prefer work experience with payroll and/or business/individual tax preparation</li></ul><p><br></p><p><em><u>Personal attributes that support your success</u></em></p><ul><li>Demonstrates discretion, integrity, and expertise while serving as a trusted advisor to principals and colleagues.</li><li>Collaborates respectfully and effectively with others, contributing to a supportive, team-oriented environment.</li><li>Approaches challenges with curiosity, bold thinking, and a commitment to continuous learning and innovation.</li><li>Maintains a strong focus on results, consistently exercising sound judgment and decision-making.</li><li>Brings a visionary mindset, planning strategically for the future with imagination and insight.</li><li>Committed to excellence and actively engages with others to accomplish shared goals.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>All offers of employment are contingent on your successful completion (where permitted by state law) of a confidentiality agreement and background check.
