Support manufacturing through procurement of raw materials and components. Execute supply chain strategies to improve lead-time, while managing out-of-stocks on raw materials. Provide timely and accurate information for internal employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Essential Duties Order does not necessarily indicate duty importance.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Follow and ensure compliance to quality system and cGMP programs.
  • Purchase components, raw materials and consumables to support production using lean practices and analysis gathered from the Materials Replenishment Planning (MRP). Take actions to prevent out-of-stocks to satisfy operational requirements.
  • Build and maintain integrity of ERP system data in relationship to suppliers, parts pricing, receiving records, lead-times and supplier contact information.
  • Shift business needs as requested by production planners and sales team to ensure on-time finished goods to customers. Expedite and/or cancel materials as work orders are adjusted in MRP.
  • Keep management, supervisors and co-workers informed of significant variations to Production and Demand Planning on a timely basis.
  • Analyze and report vendor performance in relationship to projected and realized volumes, on-time delivery.

  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

SKILLS

  • Proven experience as a buyer or relevant role
  • Outstanding communication abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrable aptitude in effective negotiating
  • Up to speed with purchasing best practices
  • Familiarity with market research, data analysis and forecasting techniques
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of ERP Systems (e.g. Netsuite) is an advantage
  • High school diploma; BSc/BA in business administration or relevant field will be considered a plus
