As a member of the DBA team, you will be responsible for defining and supporting new and existing database systems across public cloud and traditional data centers. You will help guide best practices in database administration, data high availability, database management, database design, process improvement, requirements analysis, and the introduction of innovation with a focus on automation.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p><p><strong>What You'll Do</strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Work as a member of the DBA team, primarily partnering with the Application Development teams to provide guidance, troubleshooting and optimization for in-house applications</li> <li>Perform DBA Duties such as responding to requests for database support, monitoring database availability, performing backups, managing user access, participating in failover testing, and other normal activity</li> <li>Document the database environment using industry standard diagramming techniques showing application/database dependencies.  Additionally, you will be creating a data dictionary and documenting data mappings between disparate data sources</li> <li>Perform DDL and application code reviews code reviews for functionality related to a database</li> <li>Understand programing language (python, java, similar) and make informed design suggestions for efficient and logical use of the data and of database resources</li> <li>Provide high-end technical DBA support within a variety of Operating Environments (OE) while also supporting/assisting software development and operational teams with database definition, structure, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and security/integrity controls according to industry best practices</li> <li>Help Design and implement a new Database dependent application, planning for minimal migration downtime and resiliency</li> <li>Troubleshoot and resolve issues across database and application tiers</li> <li>Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution</li> <li>Work closely with L1/L2/L3 support teams to proactively identify and resolve issues</li> <li>Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation</li> </ul> <p> </p><p><strong>What You'll Need</strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>10+ years of hands-on Oracle database administration experience in a mission critical 24x7 environment</li> <li>Software development experience with Java, React, Typescript, Python Node, Go, or similar</li> <li>Experience with full database lifecycle management: upgrades, patching, cloning, backups, and recovery</li> <li>Experience creating and maintaining enterprise data dictionary</li> <li>Experience with ETL processes</li> <li>Understanding of Unix operating systems</li> </ul> <p> <strong>Nice to Have</strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Experience with automated database deployment using Jenkins, Ansible, or similar tools</li> <li>MySQL database administration experience</li> <li>Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment with an understanding of ITIL</li> </ul> <ul type="disc"> <li>Experience managing Oracle EBS environments including installation, patching, cloning, and performance tuning</li> <li>4+ years of AWS experience designing and supporting hyper-scale mission critical database architecture</li> <li>2+ years proficiency in writing, profiling, and optimizing SQL queries for performance</li> <li>2+ years experience creating and maintaining Entity Relationship Diagrams</li> <li>Understanding of data warehouses, data marts, data lakes, modeling, and profiling</li> <li>Strong understanding of Java, AWS Lambda, and development frameworks </li> </ul> <p><strong>Business Wire will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position.</strong></p> <p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p> <p>The base salary range for this position is $150K to $165K/year.  Offered salary will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.  Business Wire reserves the right to modify this salary range at any time.</p> <p>Business Wire’s total rewards include:</p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Ability to work remotely</li> <li>Excellent health benefits that begin on your first day of employment</li> <li>$100 monthly fitness allotment, a tuition reimbursement program, and enhanced mental health resources</li> <li>401(k) plan with generous company match, and annual profit sharing contribution (subject to company performance)</li> <li>PTO, Floating Holidays, Wellness Day Off, Birthday Day Off, and more!</li> </ul> <p></p> <p></p> <p></p><p><br></p><p></p> <p><b>A pre-employment background check will be required after the acceptance of an offer. </b>Business Wire is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
