The Crown Is Yours

As a Senior Director of Gaming Compliance & Risk you'll serve as a senior regulatory leader and strategic advisor, responsible for shaping and executing the company’s gaming regulatory strategy across jurisdictions. This role is critical to DraftKings’ ability to operate, innovate, and grow responsibly within an increasingly complex and scrutinized regulatory landscape.

You will lead critical engagement with gaming regulatory authorities, testing laboratories, league partners, and industry groups, serving as a trusted and credible representative of DraftKings. This individual will play a central role in regulatory advocacy, addressing evolving requirements, and proactive engagement on new products, emerging risks, and industry trends. The role will partner closely with Product, Legal, Operations, Analytics, and Technology teams to ensure regulatory expectations are understood early and addressed effectively.

This is a highly visible role with regular interaction with DraftKings’ executive leadership team and significant opportunity to influence regulatory outcomes, business strategy, and the future of regulated gaming.

What you'll do as a Sr Director, Gaming Compliance & Risk

  • Serve as a senior leader within the Global Compliance & Risk organization, advising executive leadership on gaming regulatory risk, strategy, and regulatory developments.

  • Act as a primary liaison with gaming regulatory authorities across jurisdictions, building and maintaining strong, transparent, and constructive relationships.

  • Lead regulatory engagement and strategy for new products, features, and market expansions, including preparing and presenting submissions, regulatory briefings, and product walkthroughs.

  • Represent DraftKings in discussions with league partners, and industry groups, ensuring regulatory alignment and advocating for practical, risk-based outcomes.

  • Monitor for new regulations, guidance, enforcement actions, and industry trends, translating regulatory expectations into clear internal guidance and action plans.

  • Proactively identify emerging regulatory risks and policy issues, developing strategies to mitigate risk while supporting innovation and customer experience.

  • Drive consistent and defensible regulatory positions across jurisdictions, balancing compliance obligations, regulatory expectations, and business objectives.

  • Serve as a senior thought leader within the organization, mentoring team members and strengthening DraftKings’ overall regulatory compliance posture.

What you'll bring

  • 10+ years of experience working in gaming compliance, regulatory affairs, or risk management, preferably within regulated gaming, sports betting, iGaming, or similarly regulated industries.

  • Demonstrated experience engaging directly with gaming regulators, laboratories, or government agencies at a senior level.

  • Deep understanding of gaming regulatory frameworks, enforcement trends, and regulator expectations.

  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate complex regulatory issues clearly and persuasively to regulators and senior leadership.

  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and influence outcomes in fast-moving, highly regulated environments.

  • Strategic mindset paired with a practical, solutions-oriented approach to regulatory compliance

As a regulated gaming company, you may be required to obtain a gaming license issued by the appropriate state agency as a condition of employment. The US base salary range for this full-time position is 191,400.00 USD - 239,200.00 USD, plus bonus, equity, and benefits as applicable. Our ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The compensation information displayed on each job posting reflects the range for new hire pay rates for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
