Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer (Remote)

Position Description: IDS is seeking Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developers with expert-level command of the Oracle RDBMS, SQL, and PL/SQL. You will be responsible for the architecture, development, and performance optimization of Oracle databases, including complex PL/SQL packages, triggers, types, and data pipelines. We're looking for somebody who is a confident problem solver, proactively challenges traditional solutions, and brings strong opinions on code quality and maintainability. You will also have opportunities to contribute to Java Spring Boot microservices, and modern front-end applications built with Angular and TypeScript. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Oracle database full life-cycle development including data modeling, database architecture, SQL and PL/SQL development, performance tuning, unit testing, and production support. Design and implement efficient, maintainable database solutions for high-volume, web-based applications serving DoD customers. Contribute to architecture decisions and drive implementation of changes across our product base. Develop detailed technical analysis and design specifications from functional and compliance requirements. Collaborate closely with developers, DevSecOps engineers, designers, and analysts to solve complex problems. Create, refactor, and improve reusable database objects with an emphasis on modularity and testability. Profile, optimize, and tune SQL queries and execution plans for performance at scale. Establish and enforce coding standards, peer review practices, and documentation norms. Support CI/CD pipeline integration for database change management (Liquibase, Flyway, or equivalent). Knowledge and Skills: 7+ years of hands-on experience developing Oracle SQL and PL/SQL in production environments. Strong understanding of Oracle performance tuning tools and techniques (AWR, ASH, execution plan analysis, indexing strategies). Experience with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions) and Git-based source control workflows. Familiarity with database migration and version control frameworks (Liquibase, Flyway). Disciplined approach to testing and quality assurance, including experience writing unit tests for PL/SQL (utPLSQL or similar). Experience with containerized deployment environments (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. Experience developing Java Spring Boot applications is a plus. Experience with modern front-end frameworks (Angular, React, or Vue) and TypeScript is a plus. Exposure to cloud-hosted Oracle environments (AWS RDS, OCI) is a plus. Education and Work Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. A Bachelor's degree may be waived with commensurate years of relevant professional experience. Physical & Mental Qualifications: Must be able to sit, type, hear, see, and speak for extended periods of time. Must consistently work and type on a computer for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to communicate accurate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to lift/carry at least 15 lbs. Salary Range: $125,000 - $145,000 per year The estimated salary range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job posting and may be modified in the future.
