Senior Pega Developer (Remote Opportunity)

VetsEZ is seeking a motivated Senior Pega Developer to join our team. In this role, you will develop and maintain applications on the Pega platform, collaborating with business analysts and developers to design and implement solutions. Proficiency in front- and back-end programming (Java, JavaScript) and experience with relational databases like Oracle or MySQL are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software using the Pega platform to support a large-scale IT system and deliver high-quality solutions within planned sprint timelines.
  • Complete Pega development stories and tasks within each sprint, participating in Epic, Story, and Task elaboration to maximize feature utilization.
  • Collaborate with solution architects and Business Analysts to ensure architecture compliance and adherence to design and development standards.
  • Provide guidance to junior developers through training, code reviews, and mentorship to enhance overall team technical capabilities.
  • Support continuous integration by writing code/scripts, creating CI/CD pipelines, and maintaining deployment infrastructure.
  • Test, debug, and monitor application performance using Pega’s built-in tools, including performance monitors and database traces.
  • Ensure compliance with government policies, privacy standards, and 508 accessibility requirements while maintaining secure UI code.
  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as needed to support team objectives and ensure the success of the project.

Requirements

  • Education & Experience: Advanced degree in an Engineering discipline or related field and at least 7 years of hands-on experience in Pega PRPC v7.x/v8.x application development.
  • Technical Expertise: Minimum of 3 years of Java development experience with strong object-oriented analysis and troubleshooting skills.
  • Technical Expertise: Expertise beyond the Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) level; Lead System Architect (LSA) certification is highly preferred.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of Pega architecture, Direct Capture of Objectives (DCO), and integrations including REST/SOAP APIs.
  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience in designing process-based solutions and working with Pega rules such as Flows, Activities, and Connectors.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders and present complex technical solutions clearly.

Additional Qualifications

  • Experience with Pega Healthcare Foundation framework is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, container orchestration tools, and Pega Deployment Manager.
  • Experience with Pega cloud or public cloud platforms.
  • Previous experience working on Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) projects is highly desirable.
