<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>The Financial Products team is a highly focused growth team with a mission to build out Uber’s financial services. As one of the company’s core strategic initiatives, the team is responsible for launching high-impact projects that push the boundaries of Uber's services and offerings and has a direct impact on the company's performance.</p> <p>On this team, we build user-facing fintech products and services that interface with the entire Uber platform, including Uber, UberEats, and Uber Driver apps. We ship on a global scale and pursue strategic projects in various markets to empower Uber’s business.</p> <p><strong>What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points</strong></p> <p>---- What the Candidate Will Do ----</p> <ol> <li>Collaborate closely with product, design, and business teams to design and implement new product ideas and business needs with a scalable solution</li> <li>Drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability</li> <li>Play an active role in the team's technical design choices, code reviews, and documentation</li> </ol> <p>---- Basic Qualifications ----</p> <ol> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.</li> <li>5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer.</li> <li>Proven experience in software development, with a strong understanding of programming languages such as Go, Java, Python, or C++.</li> <li>Strong experience with backend development and microservices architecture.</li> <li>Experience with data analytics and experimental design in an engineering context.</li> <li>Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.</li> <li>Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.</li> </ol> <p>---- Preferred Qualifications ----</p> <ol> <li>Strong sense of ownership</li> <li>Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.</li> <li>Highly efficient coding in Golang, Java or any similar languages.</li> <li>Strong background in data analytics tools such as Hive, or similar.</li> <li>Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks.</li> <li>Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience in mentoring and guiding junior engineers.</li> <li>Proven experience of shipping high-quality product features on schedule and with high velocity</li> <li>Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate complex ideas to various stakeholders.</li> </ol> <p>For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$202,000 per year - USD$224,000 per year.</p> <p>You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp.
