Shipping Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for a variety of complex Shipping activities. This position interfaces with common carriers and logistics service providers.

Summary/Objective

The purpose of this Objective is to identify the responsibilities and functions of the Shipping Department personnel regarding processing and Shipping product in accordance to standard Operating Procedures and Regulatory Standards at Eastern Aero Marine, Inc.

Essential Functions

Plan and prepare the business days requirements (reports).

Communicate parts pending to transfer to shipping.

Evaluate individual orders and process in accordance to the customers shipping instruction.

Coordinate pending inspections with Quality Inspectors.

Enter shipment details into Quantum.

Compose Dangerous Goods Declaration (when applicable).

Process shipment labels with use of Fed ex or UPS power ship stations or Transportation Management Systems (TMS).

Complete AWB or BOL when applicable.

Enter export compliance information on commercial invoice.

Coordinate logistics.

Process End of Month closing reports.

Process Fed Ex weekly shipping reports.

Other duties as required.

Competencies

High School Graduate with minimum of 2-3 years related experience.

Specialized knowledge of Shipping best practices or S.O.P.

Excellent interpersonal skills in both oral and written form.

Professional appearance and attitude.

Ability to exercise sound judgement and decision-making skills.

Keyboarding/computer skills necessary

Proficient in Microsoft Windows applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)

Able to attain and maintain IATA (ICAO) and CFR49 Hazmat/Dangerous Goods transportation certification

Able to understand basic aviation procedures

Able to safely operate a forklift and pallet jack

Forklift Certification preferred

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
