A minimum of 15 hours per week should fall between 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM EST or CST to support team collaboration and feedback cycles, with remaining hours flexible. Candidates in EST or CST time zones will be given preference. <strong>This is an independent contractor position.</strong></p> <p>We’re looking for a part-time Social Video Editor to support short-form organic content across four brands in aviation, skilled trades, and education. This role is strictly focused on editing short-form social content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other social media platforms.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <p><strong><u>Content Editing</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Edit engaging short-form content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other social platforms across multiple brands</li> <li>Transform raw footage, interviews, campus shoots, events, and B-roll into fast-paced, platform-native social content</li> <li>Identify compelling moments, hooks, trends, and storytelling angles that keep viewers engaged within the first few seconds</li> <li>Repurpose existing content into multiple platform-specific edits and variations</li> <li>Add captions, motion graphics, sound design, transitions, and other creative elements that enhance performance and watch time</li> <li>Deliver approximately 10–15 short-form edits weekly depending on project complexity and available footage</li> </ul> <p><strong><u>Collaboration & Workflow</u></strong></p> <ul> <li>Collaborate closely with the social media team to execute content aligned with brand voice, trends, and campaign goals</li> <li>Organize project files and maintain efficient editing workflows across ongoing content pipelines</li> <li>Stay current on platform trends, algorithm changes, and emerging short-form techniques to continuously improve content performance</li> </ul> <p><strong>Ideal Skills & Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>2+ years of experience editing short-form social content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts</li> <li>Strong understanding of platform-native editing styles, pacing, hooks, captions, retention, and audience attention spans</li> <li>Ability to edit differently depending on platform and audience while maintaining brand consistency across multiple brands</li> <li>Experience with subtitles, motion graphics, sound design, transitions, and social-first editing techniques</li> <li>Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro or similar editing software (After Effects experience is a plus)</li> <li>Familiarity with AI-assisted editing workflows and modern creative tools that improve speed and efficiency</li> <li>Ability to produce a high and consistent volume of short-form edits while maintaining quality</li> <li>Familiarity with Google Drive and digital file organization</li> <li>Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround times and feedback cycles</li> </ul> <p><strong>Position Details:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Part-time (approx. 20–25 hours/week, flexible scheduling)</li> <li>Independent contractor engagement</li> <li>Remote; EST or CST time zone preferred</li> <li>Ideal for an experienced editor looking to contribute to a mission-driven, multi-brand environment in the education and trades space</li> </ul> <p><strong>Education:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A degree in Film Production, Media, Communications, or a related field is preferred but not required</li> <li>Equivalent hands-on experience and a strong portfolio of short-form social content will be considered in lieu of formal education</li> </ul> <p><strong>Portfolio Required: </strong>You'll be prompted to share a portfolio link during the application.
