This team powers the personalized subscription experience for our 2M+ members across IPSY Original, Extra, Ultimate, and more.<br><br>As a senior leader, you will play a pivotal role in driving both technical delivery and architectural excellence, while also leading and mentoring engineering leaders. You’ll be responsible for shaping the long-term technical roadmap, ensuring the platforms and tools you build elevate user engagement, retention, and personalization across IPSY's digital products.</div> <div><br>In this role, you'll lead a talented team of engineers and engineering managers, developing talent at scale and fostering a culture of growth and innovation. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, and other teams to shape the future of our platform, while scaling engineering efforts and optimizing development processes to meet the growing needs of the business.</div> <p>This <strong>position reports to a Senior Director of Engineering and is fully remote (from one of the 16 U.S. states where IPSY hires -- see application for list). </strong></p> <p><strong>What You’ll Be Doing:</strong></p> <ul> <li><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Lead Engineering Teams</span>: Manage and mentor a team of software engineers and first-line engineering managers, helping them grow their technical expertise, career paths, and delivery capabilities. Foster an environment of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.</li> <li><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Drive Technical Vision & Architecture</span>: Partner with product and design teams to define and execute on the technical vision for our web and mobile platforms. Be deeply involved in system architecture and design decisions, ensuring our solutions are scalable, future-proof, and aligned with business goals.</li> <li><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Ensure Engineering Excellence</span>: Oversee the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable software that aligns with business goals. Guide your team through complex technical challenges and help prioritize high-impact projects.</li> <li><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Process Improvement</span>: Identify and implement improvements to engineering processes, including code quality, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and release management to ensure efficiency and high product standards.</li> <li><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Cross-functional Collaboration</span>: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other teams to drive product initiatives forward while managing trade-offs between speed, quality, and cost.</li> <li><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Mentor and Coach</span>: Develop the next generation of engineering leaders within your team through coaching, feedback, and creating growth opportunities.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What We Are Looking For:</strong></p> <ul> <li><span style="text-decoration: underline;">10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in an engineering management</span> role, including <span style="text-decoration: underline;">managing engineering managers</span> and scaling multi-team organizations in fast-paced, product-driven environments.</li> <li>Proven experience delivering high-quality, high-traffic digital experiences using modern web stacks (e.g., React/Next.js, Java, GraphQL, AWS).</li> <li>Deep understanding of scalable systems, API design, cloud infrastructure, and performance optimization.</li> <li>Strong people management skills, with a proven track record of mentoring engineers and engineering managers at various levels. Experience fostering a positive, inclusive, and high-performance engineering culture.</li> <li>Product Mindset: Strong understanding of how technology impacts user experience and business outcomes.
