Strategic Partnerships Senior Associate, New Business Development

The Strategic Partnerships Senior Associate, New Business Development is responsible for identifying, developing and finalizing new one-to-many partnership opportunities, as well as owning and building out a process for inbound partnership requests. The ideal candidate will have experience negotiating agreements and leading partnerships with internal and external partners, as well as a desire and passion to learn FinTech, commerce and payments. What You'll Do
- Develop, negotiate and lead commerce partnerships in order to scale Affirm’s merchant and consumer networks.
- Tenaciously search for and identify potential partners that will increase and accelerate merchant adoption via wins for Affirm’s sales team as well as via merchant self-service and platform-owned onboarding experiences.
- Work cross-functionally to get input and drive alignment with key internal partners (e.g., product, engineering, and legal) on the terms of the partnership and the associated business justifications.
- Build and develop process for prioritizing, managing and executing inbound partnerships.
- Clearly and succinctly summarize complex partnership concepts in order to share and present with leadership.
- Develop deep knowledge in FinTech, commerce, and payments to act as a subject matter expert and thought leader within Affirm that brings innovative concepts to Affirm.
What We Look For
- 4+ years of work experience. 2+ years experience in Strategic Partnerships, Business Development, Product or related fields
- Ability to think strategically about all areas of a potential partnership to find all sources of value to the parties
- Intellectual integrity to say no to a deal that doesn’t make sense AND resilience to complete the deals that do drive sufficient value
- A strong sense of ownership, drive and solution-mindedness, as well as the ability to thrive in ambiguity
- Excellent negotiation and contracting skills that can drive comprehensive value across the company
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex concepts to drive alignment and manage internal and external partners to drive execution
