Summer Camp Counselor (Seasonal)

WHEN? Monday-Friday 8:00-4pm, June 8-July 24 (excluding week of June 29)

WHO? Campers grouped by age: 4-5 year olds, 6-8, and 9-13 year olds

WHERE? 14 locations in Dallas, Plano, McKinney, Prosper, Lewisville, Garland, and Wylie

PAY? $13.00-$15.00 per hour, depending on experience. 39.75 hrs per week.

We are currently looking for professional, patient, ENTHUSIASTIC, easy to work with, and punctual Camp Counselors for our Summer Science Day camp this summer! Training, Curriculum, and ALL supplies are provided. Have fun this summer! Gain valuable experience! Make great $$$$! We are currently interviewing candidates.

What do Camp Counselors do? The most important out of all Camp Counselor duties is to ensure campers are safe at all times. You’ll be responsible for overseeing their activities and ensuring they don’t get lost or hurt. The job duties of a Camp Counselor include educating children using our STEM curriculum & supplies, setting up equipment, leading group games, and monitoring them throughout transitions. Being reliable and able to build good relationships with children are two essential traits of a Club SciKidz Camp Counselor. Let's have an amazing summer together at camp!

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe, welcoming environment
  • Teach our STEM curriculum to campers
  • Occasionally lead/monitor recreational activities
  • Escort and oversee children
  • Ensure classroom is clean
  • Set up/teardown of educational materials in your classroom each week
  • Resolve occasional conflict between children in a positive manner
  • Ensure that campers go home excited for the next day!

Skills

  • Proven experience as Camp Counselor or similar role working with children
  • Patient and reliable
  • Organizational and communication skills
  • A love for children!!
  • Energetic and positive personality
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (strength and stamina to lead children all day!)
