Whether we’re supporting a multinational Alzheimer’s trial or developing tools to bring cognitive testing into routine care, our work is meaningful, collaborative, and constantly evolving. </p> <p>At Cogstate, we’re not just imagining the future of brain health - we’re building it.</p></div><p>That’s why we’re seeking a Systems and Network Administrator accountable for for administering, supporting, monitoring, and maintaining the organization’s Windows, Linux, network, virtualized, and cloud infrastructure. This role provides high-level technical support for infrastructure issues, supports identity and access management, and works with internal departments to implement technical solutions and service improvements. The position performs routine maintenance, patching, upgrades, monitoring, troubleshooting, and controlled change activities across Azure, Azure virtual machines, Hyper-V, and core infrastructure services to help ensure secure, reliable, and efficient IT operations. On-call and after-hours work will be required.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><br><br></p> <ul> <li>Administer, maintain, and support Windows and Linux server infrastructure and enterprise systems.</li> <li>Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, system access controls, and identity-related services.</li> <li>Perform system upgrades, patching, configuration changes, lifecycle maintenance, and controlled change activities for servers and core platforms.</li> <li>Monitor server health, performance, availability, and capacity, respond to alerts, and proactively address issues before service impact occurs.</li> <li>Administer and support LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, firewall, switching, and routing infrastructure.</li> <li>Maintain Azure cloud infrastructure, including Azure virtual machines, networking, storage, identity, and security controls.</li> <li>Support and maintain Hyper-V virtualized environments and core virtual infrastructure services.</li> <li>Monitor network, cloud, and virtual infrastructure performance, availability, and security to ensure stable and reliable operations.</li> <li>Support backup, restore, backup verification, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes for critical systems.</li> <li>Provide high-level technical escalation support for infrastructure, server, network, virtualization, Linux, and cloud-related incidents.</li> <li>Work with internal departments and vendors to implement technical solutions, infrastructure improvements, and service enhancements.</li> <li>Follow change management processes for infrastructure changes, maintenance, upgrades, and planned maintenance activities.</li> <li>Maintain technical documentation, procedures, configuration records, and diagrams.</li> <li>Support security hardening, patch compliance, vulnerability remediation, access reviews, compliance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Systems Administration, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.</li> <li>3+ years’ experience in systems, network, or infrastructure administration.</li> <li>Experience in Microsoft 365 and Azure administration.</li> <li>Relevant technical certifications</li> <li>Experience administering Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.</li> <li>Strong IT hardware, operating system, and infrastructure troubleshooting experience.</li> <li>Experience administering Windows server environments and supporting core enterprise systems.</li> <li>Experience with Microsoft 365, Azure administration, Azure virtual machines, and identity-related services.</li> <li>Experience supporting VPN, firewalls, switches, wireless infrastructure, and core network services.</li> <li>Experience with virtualization technologies, including Hyper-V.</li> <li>Experience with backup and recovery solutions, system monitoring tools, patching, and infrastructure lifecycle maintenance.</li> <li>Experience administering Linux server environments.</li> <li>Experience with scripting and automation, preferably PowerShell and basic Linux shell scripting.</li> <li>Experience with SAN/NAS and performance tuning.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Skills, Knowledge and Specialist Expertise</strong></p> <ul> <li>Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.</li> <li>Working knowledge of Windows server environments, Microsoft 365, Azure, virtualization, and core network infrastructure.</li> <li>Ability to troubleshoot infrastructure issues across systems, servers, networks, and cloud services, and to escalate appropriately when required.</li> <li>Strong documentation, planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.</li> <li>Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.</li> <li>Understanding of security, access control, patching, and change management practices within an enterprise environment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>What’s In It For You</strong></p> <ul> <li>Remote Work Practices: Cogstate is a virtual first company.
