Duties

  • Greet clients warmly upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression for every visitor
  • Manage appointment scheduling efficiently to optimize veterinarian time and client convenience
  • Collect payments and process medical billing with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Maintain thorough medical records, including updating pet histories, vaccination records, and treatment notes
  • Assist with medical collections by verifying insurance information and following up on outstanding balances
  • Support kennel operations by coordinating pet drop-offs and pick-ups, ensuring proper animal handling and care during visits
  • Handle phone inquiries professionally, providing information about services, appointments, and pet care advice
  • Facilitate communication between clients and veterinary staff regarding treatment plans or follow-up care
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the reception area to promote a professional environment
  • Assist veterinary team with basic animal handling tasks such as restraint or grooming as needed

Experience

  • Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is highly preferred, especially with veterinary critical care experience or kennel experience
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, restraint techniques, and aseptic procedures is essential
  • Familiarity with pet grooming, dog training, animal husbandry, pet care, and pet grooming enhances your ability to support client needs effectively
  • Laboratory experience or familiarity with laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine is a plus
  • Experience handling dogs and other animals confidently while maintaining safety for both animals and staff
  • Strong communication skills combined with an energetic approach to customer service are vital for success in this role
